Pinocchio is a fictional character who is the main character in the children’s book The Adventures of Pinocchio (1883) by Italian author Carlo Collodi. Created by a woodcarver named Geppetto in a village near Lucca, he started out as a wooden puppet but wished to become a real boy. He tells lies frequently.
